The duo

A unique duo in the world for a unique place in the world: from the beautiful and historic Teatro all'Antica di Sabbioneta a concert will be broadcast on January 23 at 18.30 on RAI5 with a very particular duo, one of a kind: Alessandro Marangoni on piano and Paolo Oreni at the organ.

The peculiarity of this concert is the unusual combination of these two musical instruments with a repertoire that has been somewhat lost for a century and which Marangoni and Oreni are recovering and disseminating. This is also made possible by the Wanderer Organ, the largest portable modular symphonic pipe organ in the world, designed by Paolo Oreni himself and which for the occasion was brought inside the Teatro all'Antica and arranged in a semicircle in the stalls, with extraordinary sound and multiphonic effects thanks also to the excellent acoustics of the theatre.

On the program Bach's Concerto in D minor BWV 1052 in the transcription by Ferruccio Busoni, Franck's "Prelude, Fugue and Variation" to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the composer's birth, some organ improvisations and a contemporary piece by Carlo Galante entitled "Gioachiniana", on themes by Rossini, written by Galante especially for Marangoni and Oreni. The direction is by Stefano Sgarella, the audio by Piergiorgio Danelli.

The concert that will be broadcast on RAI5 is also available on the Raiplay platform to be able to review it.
