The life, activities and thought of Pio Foà will be remembered in a conference that will be held in the Aula Magna of Palazzo Forti on Sunday, October 22 starting at 10:15. The organization is organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality of Sabbioneta, the Jewish Community of Mantua and the Sabbioneta Heritage Foundation.
After the institutional interventions of Marco Pasquali, Mayor of Sabbioneta, and Aldo Norsa, President of the Jewish Community, will follow the report of Alberto Sarzi Madidini, a lover of local history: "Pio Foà, an illustrious Sabbionetano". Following the contributions of: Francesco Scaroina (Academy of Medicine of Turin - "Pio Foà, the man and the scientist"), Luisa Ferrari (Historian of Medicine - "Pio Foà, the sexual education of young people") and Stefano Arieti (University of Bologna - "A family of scientists between Europe and America: Carlo and Piero Foà).
The Sabbionetano commemorative event, which will also be attended by Pio’s great-grandchildren, will close with a visit to the exhibition of memorabilia, documents, books by Pio Foà set up at the Synagogue Museum Hall.
Admission is free: a unique opportunity to get to know the multifaceted mind of a very important character, a precursor in many fields of medicine and society, one of the most illustrious Sabbionetani in history.
